Over 150 advocates recently took part in a webinar on the State Medicaid 1115 Waiver Option to Expand HIV Care and Treatment Access. Attendees learned about how the 1115 waiver process can allow states to expand access to care for low-income people living with HIV even before the major provisions of health care reform are implemented in 2014. Federal Medicaid officials participated in the call and indicated that guidance on a streamlined waiver application process would be available soon.

You can find out how to take action and stay engaged in the effort with out 1115 waiver toolkit, which includes information on future trainings and actions as well as a space to learn more and ask questions. We look forward to keeping advocates updated over the coming weeks and months as new information and advocacy opportunities become available.
